PLANNING THE DETAILS
List the larger pieces of furniture, approximate box count and any unusually heavy, delicate or awkward items. Explain whether you want the whole household moved or selected items only. Wide photos can help show the volume, but remove personal papers and valuables from view. Identify items that need disassembly or special attention rather than assuming everything can be handled in the same way.
Include the pickup and delivery areas, floor levels, stairs and elevator availability. Mention elevator booking requirements, loading areas, parking limits and the walking distance from the vehicle to the door. A ground-floor house and an upper-floor apartment can require different arrangements even when the distance travelled is short. Confirm building access with the relevant property contact before relying on a particular moving time.
State whether belongings will be boxed and ready or whether packing help should be discussed. Identify furniture assembly, protective wrapping and placement at the destination as separate requirements. Include preferred dates and any fixed handover deadlines, while treating them as requests until confirmed. Clarify the inventory, responsibilities and arrangements in writing before the move, including how changes or concerns will be handled.
